Department Overview:

We work in partnership with parents to enhance the care-giving capacity of families and the Dane County community. Our programs offer case management, respite care, financial assistance, information and advocacy through services that are individualized, flexible, and designed to respond to family needs and preferences.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Be a SUPER HERO MENTOR for children with special needs! You could be a positive role model in a child's life. 

Currently seeking respite providers for flexible part-time hours. Multiple opportunities are available (Madison near eastside, Madison south-eastside, Verona, Fitchburg, and Mazomanie). Work in the family's home and/or out in the community. Some activities to engage child with include video gaming, playing basketball/soccer/baseball, going out to parks, or watching movies.

The sky is the limit for how you can provide support for a child. 

These positions are a great opportunity for an individual seeking a career in education, health care, or social work, wanting to gain experience with children with disabilities. 

Qualifications:

  1. Be positive, compassionate, flexible, and responsible
  2. Experience working with individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, and/or mental health disorders prefered or a willingness to learn.
  3. Must be 18 or over and pass a thorough Caregiver Background Check

Physical Demands

Bending, lifting, standing, and may involve assistance with some personal cares.
