Position Summary/Job Duties: | We’re looking for an experienced and patient AP Biology tutor to help 2 motivated high school students strengthen their understanding of key foundational units:
Unit 0:Experimental design and chemistry fundamentals
Unit 1: Chemistry of life Molecules of life, properties, structures, and function of the macromolecules, polarity, properties of water, standard error analysis
Unit 2: Cell Structure and Function Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, endosymbiosis, eukaryotic organelles and their functions, Plasma membrane structure and function, diffusion and osmosis, water potential calculations
Unit 3: Cell Energetics Photosynthesis, cellular respiration, enzymes, fundamental metabolism
Unit 4: Cell Communication and The Cell Cycle Transduction systems, cascade pathways, cell cycle and its regulation, mitosis
What We’re Looking For:

Strong grasp of high school and AP-level biology concepts (teaching or tutoring experience preferred).

Clear communicator with the ability to break down complex material into understandable steps.

Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style.

Ideally available 2 times per week, with sessions arranged individually based on mutual availability.
Schedule & Location:

Flexible hours: weekends or later weeknights preferred.

In-person tutoring in Fitchburg, WI is ideal, but we’re open to finding a location closer to campus if needed.
