Position Summary/Job Duties:
POSITION SUMMARY: We are a busy dual-professional household on the near-west side of Madison (Village of Shorewood Hills, near the UW Hospital/campus) looking for a reliable and organized Family Assistant/House Manager. We have two children (ages 8 and 5) and a grandmother who lives in the home and provides primary childcare during the day. We are looking for someone to help the household run smoothly by handling meal preparation, errands, and light daily maintenance, with occasional support for the children.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cooking & Meal Prep: Planning and preparing family meals, including chopping/prepping ingredients or cooking full dishes (typically meal kits or simple dishes), and preparing lunches for children.
Household Tidying: Light tidying of common areas (living room, den, playroom), loading/unloading the dishwasher, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized, occasionally folding kids' clothing. No deep cleaning (bathrooms/floors) required.
Errands: Grocery shopping, picking up household supplies, and other general errands as needed.
Driving & Childcare: While the grandmother handles primary childcare during the workday, this role requires occasional assistance with school (neighborhood) or activity drop-offs or pick-ups (Madison or Middleton) and supervising the children (ages 8 and 5) when needed.
Note that our home includes a standard poodle (non-allergenic).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Previous experience as a house manager, personal assistant, or nanny is preferred. Comfort in the kitchen/cooking experience is highly valued.
Transportation: Must have own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license for running errands and transporting children.
Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and able to self-manage tasks.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with parents and the grandmother living in the home.
