Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking a responsible, caring, and energetic individual to provide after-school care for our two daughters, ages 9 and 11. We are especially interested in a caregiver who enjoys engaging children in screen-free, creative, and active play and who can help foster a positive, balanced after-school routine.
The ideal candidate has experience working with children, communicates clearly and kindly, is dependable, and is comfortable driving around Madison. Responsibilities include assisting with homework, preparing simple snacks, transporting the girls to after-school activities, and—most importantly—planning and participating in hands-on, screen-free activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, board games, imaginative play, and neighborhood adventures.  We also have a friendly 1-year-old dog. Occasional dog walking and light tidying after activities (such as putting away toys or cleaning up after snacks and crafts) will be appreciated.
A vehicle will be provided for transportation to activities; a clean driving record is required. We anticipate this being a shared position, as student schedules can be hectic and flexibility is important.
Our home is conveniently located just blocks from Camp Randall and close to the Regent Street and Prospect Avenue bus stop.
Compensation: $23/hour
If you are enthusiastic about working with children, value screen-free engagement, and enjoy creating a nurturing and active after-school environment, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications:

Experience caring for children ages 6–12 (babysitting, nannying, camp counseling, teaching, tutoring, or similar roles)

Enjoyment of and commitment to screen-free, hands-on activities (arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, reading, creative play)

Reliable, responsible, and punctual

Strong communication skills with both children and parents

Comfortable with dogs (Pixie is a year old)

Comfortable assisting with elementary-level homework

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Comfortable driving in Madison; vehicle provided

Ability to plan engaging after-school activities and maintain a structured yet fun routine

CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)

Background check and references available upon request
