Position Summary/Job Duties:
This unique role evolves from a part-time trial (Spring 2026) into a residential stewardship position (Summer 2026 – Spring 2027). It is designed for a highly responsible student or recent graduate taking a gap year to focus on personal projects, grad school applications, or taking 1–2 prerequisite courses.
The Living Space (Starting Summer 2026): Live as the sole occupant of a brand-new, custom-built, standalone small house. This is a private, luxury retreat 20 minutes from campus. Rent and utilities are 100% covered.
High-End Interior: Queen-size bed, fireplace, AC, and radiant heated floors.
Spa Amenities: Rain-head shower and a deep soaking bathtub.
Convenience: In-unit washer/dryer and a dedicated "Welcome Notebook" for easy operation.
The Grounds: Set in the woods with a private 0.5-mile trail featuring art and poetry stands, plus a 6-person smokeless fire pit.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation: Chauffeur residents to UW-Madison Athletics, Overture Center performances, and other events using a provided luxury hybrid SUV.
Spring Trial: 5–10 hours/week to ensure a great fit. A $25 travel stipend is paid per session during the spring trial period to cover your commute.
Summer/Gap Year Residency: Move into a brand-new, standalone small house as the sole occupant (Rent & Utilities 100% covered).
Property Stewardship: Optional part-time and full-time summer and gap year hours for trail maintenance, household logistics (deliveries/recycling), and occasional walks with a friendly small dog.
Documentation: You will be supported by written instructions (a Welcome Guide and Property Maintenance Manual) to ensure total clarity on all tasks.
Qualifications:
Personal Traits: Must be exceptionally organized, cleanly, and punctual
Driving: Valid driver’s license
Legal: Authorized to work in the U.S. and willing to undergo a background check
Mindset: A proactive "handy" mindset for light property maintenance is highly valued
Physical Demands
Occasional light outdoor work (trail clearing, leaf removal, snow removal). Ability to wash windows and assist with grocery deliveries.
