Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Schedule:
Mandatory availability to work evenings and weekends, as most events take place outside standard office hours. Photo and video shoot hours vary and may range from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday (typically 2–3 consecutive hours on location).
Office hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (typically 2.5–3 consecutive hours in the office).

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Wisconsin Union seeks efficient, creative, flexible, and client-focused students with experience shooting professional-grade videography and photography, managing deadlines, and editing and cataloging footage and images. You will:
Capture high-quality videos, audio, and photos with a mirrorless camera at a wide array of events, activities, and programs developed by the Wisconsin Union and its partners
Edit the footage and photos with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop
Collaborate closely with the supervisor, event organizers, and marketing staff to deliver custom videography and photography for marketing collateral and campaigns
Properly organize, edit, tag, and catalog all video footage and photographic assets in accordance with established workflows
Qualifications:
Mandatory availability to work evenings and weekends; most events take place outside standard office hours
Strong proficiency with mirrorless cameras and DSLRs
Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop
Experience with video production techniques, including camera operation (focusing, transitions, framing), post-production, and formatting
Experience with photography, including shooting, editing, and final output formatting
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and efficiency
Professional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong client-service mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team; reliability is essential
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with macOS and Adobe Audition is a plus
