Position Summary/Job Duties:

We're two working parents with a 1-year-old daughter and a friendly Australian Shepherd, looking for a reliable person to help keep our household running smoothly and provide some childcare during the busiest parts of the week.

We are ideally looking for someone who can work two weekday evenings (roughly 5-7:30pm) and one weekend shift of 4 hours (precise timing flexible). On weeknights, you would be responsible for some combination of walking the dog, helping with dinner prep, washing bottles and prepping daycare supplies, dinner cleanup, tidying, and laundry. Weekend shifts would be similar but also include errands like grocery pickup, meal prep for the week, rotating household projects (e.g., organizing a closet, hanging pictures), and (eventually – see below) some childcare.

This role is primarily household-focused; it's not a nanny position. Over time, however, we'd love for this to be a hybrid role where you provide a mix of household and childcare help, particularly on weekends. Because our daughter is at an age where she's cautious with new faces, we'll plan a gradual introduction during your first few weeks, with one or both parents always nearby, and add in the childcare component only when everyone is comfortable with it.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for someone:

  • Reliable and consistent
  • Self-directed. Comfortable seeing what needs doing and doing it without waiting to be asked.
  • Comfortable with a high-energy dog
  • With some childcare experience, preferably with babies/toddlers
  • Comfortable with basic cooking (we’ll provide the recipes and instructions)
  • With a driver's license and reliable vehicle for occasional errands like grocery pickup.
  • Available for at least six months, assuming it's a good fit on both sides. Consistency matters a lot to us, especially as our daughter gets to know you.

Application Instructions:

Please email Allison at Allison.daminger@gmail.com. Include your resume and a short message about your relevant background, why this role appeals to you, and your general availability over the next six months.
