Under general supervision, performs custodial services required to maintain assigned school buildings and adjacent ground areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition.

Position Summary/Job Duties: | From a prepared work schedule, performs work that includes, but is not limited to:

Trim and mow grass with a push mower and riding mower.

Trim or prune trees, shrubs, bushes, etc.

Cultivate around trees, shrubs, bushes, etc.
-
Irrigate lawns, athletic fields, etc.
-
Weed around fences, buildings, etc.
-
Collect and dispose of waste, including trash from schools.
-
Maintain and clean outside areas, pick up litter, etc.
-
Maintain athletic fields.
-
Wash walls, furniture, lockers, etc.
-
Perform minor trades labor, assist trades with deliveries, and perform other duties as needed.

Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to work toward one’s own cultural competence, i.e., valuing difference/diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one’s skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn in these areas.

Qualifications: |

Ability to read, follow directions, and maintain records.
-
Ability to accept responsibility, complete assigned duties, communicate with team lead, and work with minimal supervision.

Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather as required.
-
Experience working independently, in teams, and leading others.
-
Work requires walking, lifting, pushing, climbing, bending, digging, shoveling, reaching, kneeling, and other strenuous activities.
-
Ability to operate and maintain power equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, power vacs, etc.
-
Operate vehicles, pickup trucks, etc.
-
Ability to follow MMSD, manufacturer's, and/or OSHA safety regulations.

Requires appropriate outdoor work attire and wear of necessary provided PPE.

Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.

Prefer applicants to be 18 years or older.
