Schedule:

We operate from 8am to 6pm so the shifts would be in that range. Looking for 4-5 days per week and hours dependent on qualifications and ability - so range is 30 hrs on up to 40 to be discussed in interview. PT horse chores only may also available. 

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $16.00 to $17.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking for a FT seasonal farm worker on our horse boarding and regenerative agricultural farm. The job has a variety of tasks and the ideal candidate will have some familiarity with weed wacking, fence painting, prairie management, weed control and basic handy work.  We make our own hay, grow hops, kernza and manage horse pasture.  Horse chore/care experience a big plus. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and enjoy working both independently and with a team. It is essential to understand this is farm work and the majority of the work is outside regardless of weather conditions unless all day rain or severe weather.  

Qualifications:

Must be able to lift, bend, pull and push and use farm tools and equipment . Work outside in all types of weather.  Stand, walk and bend down for most of the day and be able to lift at least 50 lb. This is our third summer with UW students and several have come back a second summer. Having a great attitude and willingness to learn is essential. 

Physical Demands

Able to lift 50-75 lbs and climb in and out of tractors, work outside
