Viking Day Camp provides a summer program shaped by fun, friends and nature, featuring science, natural wonder, independence and exploration.

We can be flexible with scheduling. We can do 4-5 days a week, 8-10 hour shifts.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Summer Day Camp Counselor will provide a safe fun-filled environment for children ages 5-12 years old. The Counselor will also plan, implement, and supervise activities. These activities are to be utilized to provide adventure and enjoyment to develop new skills and interests in children. The counselor is responsible for the health and safety of children in the program and for maintaining a professional attitude and relationship with parents.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Experience working with School-Age Children (preferred)
  • First Aid and CPR Certification or willing to complete
  • Willingness to learn state licensing child care regulations and procedures for licensed programs
  • Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff and community organizations
  • Joy and satisfaction in working with children
  • Enjoys spending time outdoors
