Schedule:

Varies. Mutually agreed upon time 3-5 hours between 11 am and 5 pm. Additional hours available occasionally. (Already there is a medical appt in Madison on Julne 23 and if someone available, could use help 11 or 12 to 4.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Help a young mom still recovering from a brain injury last year to go out on pass with her 11 yr old son in and around Madison.Could be to go bowling, a movie, an amusement park, museum, etc, and usually out to eat.She is pleasant and conversational, can do almost everything, as has relearned to walk, eat, do most activities of daily living, but her difificulties with balance and short term memory requires someone to be with her. Someone needs to walk with her (can teach you safey and how to use a physical therapy gait belt if you don't know how to use one), and needs occasional cues at meals or in the bathroom. Passes will most likely be one Friday a month, and then one Saturday or Sunday a month. Hours would usually be 3-5 hours between 11 am and 5 pm, and are flexible and can be at a mutually agreed upon time. There is the possibility for additional hours.

Qualifications:

Outgoing, responsible person comfortable with children. Knows or willing to learn about safety for people with brain injuries.

Physical Demands

Be able to keep woman 5'4" safe while walking together if she loses balance.
