Department Overview:

The Office of Online & Professional Learning Resources (OPLR) is committed to providing service and support to the Universities of Wisconsin Administration and all 13 UW universities in online and continuing education, teaching, learning, and workforce skills training and resources.

Schedule:
WORK HOURS
• Student may work up to 10 hours per week during the school year and up to 15 hours per week during Winter, Spring and Summer breaks.
• Work will be completed during regular business hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm M-F
• The duration of this appointment is for the 2026-27 academic year with renewals possible contingent on factors such as funding, availability, program needs, student status, and satisfactory performance.
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Social Media Coordinator will support content strategists in the execution of social posts and campaigns for UW Online Collaboratives , UW Flexible Option , and UW Independent Learning online degrees, certificates, and courses. Priorities include creating video, graphics, and written content for social, posting, and social listening support. Other tasks may include researching interest-specific social opportunities for individual OPLR programs.
Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled at UW-Madison, Edgewood College, or Madison Area Technical College pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications/Journalism, or related field
Working knowledge of META and LinkedIn
Strong writing and editing skills
Experience creating social graphics and/or short-form videos
Demonstrated skills in collaboration, interpersonal communication and organization
Experience with Adobe Creative suite a plus
Experience with Hootsuite or social management tools a plus
Experience with MS Office and Google a plus
