Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Soap Opera is a local, woman owned, bathing and grooming retail store, specializing in custom perfume making, and has been a staple of the downtown Madison community since 1972! We would love for you to come work with us on State Street!

Duties:

  • Welcome customers into the store in a kind warm manor and help them find what they're looking for
  • Know store inventory and guide customers in a positive and knowledgeable shopping experience.
  • Learn The Soap Opera's gift wraps, custom scenting, and other specific procedures to help guide all orders in store, over the phone, and online smoothly
  • Ensuring the sales floor is well stocked, safe, clean, and organized for visitors
  • Understand where inventory backstock goes, keep it organized, and restock each shift for low stock products on the sales floor
  • Price new stock as well as keep it organized in it's specific location in the store (that could be putting it directly on the sales floor neatly and/or in it's back stock location
  • Learning how to navigate our website orders and products (You will be trained)
  • Posting on our social media channels at least twice a week (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc,)
  • Helping bottle perfume oils and make soaps (If desired. You will be trained)
  • Shipping out online orders in the correct order/manner (You will be trained)
