Department Overview:

Hickory Hill Academy is a private school and pre-school who provides care and education for children 0-8th grade. It is located on a 10 acre campus in madison with lots of nature trails, playgrounds, animals, and other enriching activities.

Schedule:

The student attends camp M-F, 8-3:30. He does not require assistance for all of those hours, but any combination or availability is appreciated. Ideally at least 4 hours per day, but open to options. 

Salary/Wage Range:

Weekly $50.00 to $74.96

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Volunteer opportunity to work with a child at Hickory Hill Academy-Summer on the Farm

The position: 

-Assisting one 6 year old child at his summer camp with ADHD who has difficulty with peer interactions and transitioning between tasks. This will include the opportunity to attend some fun field trips (milwaukee zoo, kalahari) with transportation (on the school bus) included

-Opportunity to be hired on as a long-term babysitter if it is a good fit with the child! 

Benefits: 

-$50-75 per week for lunch and gas (depending how many days per week you are with him)

-A letter of recommendation from his parents (NP and Anesthetist at UW Health) for school or work 

-A job reference

Hickory Hill Academy-Summer on the Farm

A 10 acre campus with lots of campers separated into classrooms. The day consists of lots of outdoor time, crafts, interacting with animals, and one field trip per week. 

Each classroom has one primary teacher in a classroom of 19-20 children 

Qualifications:

-Own transportation

-Experience with children and developmentally appropriate interactions 

-Some awareness of childhood development and interventions (positive reinforcement, providing action items, etc).
