Position Summary/Job Duties: | Lisa Lang Pottery
Hi! I’m looking for someone creative and design-minded to help me give Lisa Lang Pottery a little website and branding love.
I have an existing Wix website at lisalangpottery.com, but it needs some attention. I’m looking for someone who can help me clean things up, expand the site, and make it feel more polished and cohesive with my work as an artist.
I’m not looking for someone to build a website from scratch. I have a good starting point and a pretty strong sense of my aesthetic — I’m looking for someone who can jump in, see what could be improved, and help me take it to the next level.
What I Need Help With
Wix / Website
- Cleaning up and refining my existing Wix site
- Adding new pages and content
- Improving navigation and organization
- Making layouts, typography, spacing, and images feel more intentional
- Improving the mobile version of the site
- Creating a better way to showcase my pottery and collections
- Helping organize information about my work, exhibitions, classes, etc.
- Helping me identify what the website might be missing
- Some basic SEO and general website optimization
I’d especially love someone who can bring a fresh set of eyes to the site and make suggestions rather than just waiting for me to tell them exactly what to change.
Adobe / Branding
I also have some existing logos and branding that could use some cleanup and organization. I’m looking for someone comfortable with Adobe Illustrator who can help with things like:
- Cleaning up existing logo files
- Creating clean vector versions
- Refining typography, spacing, and alignment
- Preparing files for web, print, social media, etc.
- Organizing existing brand assets
- Creating or refining a few simple graphic elements/templates
- Making the overall visual identity feel more cohesive
Who Might Be a Good Fit?
You don’t necessarily need to be a professional web developer. You might be a freelance designer, graphic designer, web designer, design student, or just someone who is really good at this stuffand enjoys working with creative people.
I’m especially interested in someone who:
- Has experience with Wix
- Is comfortable in Adobe Illustrator
- Has a good eye for design, typography, and visual storytelling
- Is detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture
- Can work independently and bring ideas to the table
- Enjoys working with artists, makers, and small creative businesses
And here's a bonus: If you have experience with clay or ceramics — or you’re interested in learning — that would be a really fun fit.
I’m also open to discussing a partial trade for ceramic studio access as part of the arrangement. I have access to a new ceramics studio in Madison, so if you’re someone who is interested in working with clay and would enjoy having studio access, we could potentially work out a combination of paid work + studio time. This would depend on the scope of the project and what makes sense for both of us.
The Project
I’m imagining this as a freelance/project-based arrangement, with the possibility of continuing to work together as Lisa Lang Pottery grows.
I’d love to find someone I can get to know and potentially call on for occasional website, graphic design, and branding help in the future.
