Department Overview:

The Information Technology Academy (ITA) provides educational services to diverse students, with the ultimate goal of increasing their enrollment, retention, and graduation rates at UW-Madison

Qualifications:

  • Seeking highly responsible college enrolled students in good standing who are making satisfactory progress toward a degree. (UW, Edgewood, MMI, Madison College students all eligible to apply)
  • Commitment to working with a diverse clientele required
  • Commitment to travel 2 weekends in the fall semester, 1 weekend in the spring, and 2 weeks during the summer
  • At least 3 semester commitment
  • All finalists subject to criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills essential
  • Ability to adapt to a shifting variety of duties
  • English fluency required
  • Strong computer skills and willingness to learn about computer hardware, troubleshooting, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, video production, and sound design are very helpful.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Preparing lessons and teaching those lessons to high school students on topics like computer hardware, troubleshooting, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, video production, and sound design. The lessons will be in person and online. There is content and curriculum available to use as reference.
