Department Overview:

The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. Since 1986, the Foundation has served a unique and important funding niche for conservation work in Wisconsin. We embrace the power of public-private partnerships. We recover species from the brink of extinction. And we continue to bring substantial financial resources and attention to priority projects of the DNR and other conservation partners. But we have grown to do so much more! The Foundation provides sustainable funding for Wisconsin’s most imperiled species and ecosystems, while helping citizens explore, care for, and protect our state’s natural resources.

Remote Work Eligibility Detail:

Some remote work may be required dependent upon current City of Madison and County of Dane recommendations. Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 preferred.  All staff at the Natural Resource's Foundation of Wisconsin are vaccinated.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:

10 to 15 hours per week during the 2021-2022 academic school year.  Option to continue the position into the summer.

Schedule:

Flexible schedule between 8 am and 5 pm.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

$15/hour.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Majoring in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or relevant conservation field with a Junior or Senior status preferred.
  • Experience with content creation, social media marketing, and graphic design preferred.
  • A passion for conservation, wildlife, outdoors recreation or environmental issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Research and write content for the Foundation’s social media channels and support the development of a social media strategy;
  • Create content for the WisConservation blog, the Foundation’s website and member newsletter;
  • Collect and organize photo archives;
  • Design graphics for use in social media, presentations, handouts, etc.; 
  • Document and catalog program impact data to be used in communications and marketing materials;
  • Read grant reports to identify success stories, metrics, and photos to share;
  • Communication administrative support and other duties as assigned
