Department Overview:
MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of youth and adults. Desire to work with youth in a recreational setting. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of USTA programs and curricula. Previous experience playing and/or assisting with tennis instruction.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Assist in implementing appropriate structured tennis lessons to all participants, youth and adults, including basic rules and strategy of the game, as well as fundamental skills including racquet skills, strokes, grip and footwork. Maintain a safe, positive atmosphere for all participants. Program Dates: Mandatory training week, 6/10-6/14. Program dates, 6/17-8/8 Locations: Door Creek Park, East High School, La Follette High School, Memorial High School, Rennebohm Park, West High School
