Department Overview:

Joining the CLP community means joining a supporting and professional work environment.

CLP is committed to providing a nurturing environment that supports the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development of all children. We work together with families to create a community that empowers children by instilling a positive sense of self, empathy toward others, and an appreciation for diversity. We provide care for children from 6 weeks old through 4-year-old kindergarten. We also offer a summer camp for children ages 6-12.

Our program benefits from a play-based HighScope curriculum. Teachers plan their own classroom’s individual weekly lesson plans, including incorporating our downtown neighborhood: the central library, Capitol lawn, and neighboring museums. Children and staff alike have fun while working and learning. Meals are served family style with a focus on food that is prepared from scratch and fresh, sourcing from our on-site garden when possible. Classrooms often benefit from support staff - reducing staff-to-child ratios.
