Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment is a student organization at UW-Madison devoted to the awareness and prevention of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking through education and activism.

Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled as a student at UW-Madison Solid commitment to PAVE’s mission statement and to ending sexual/domestic violence Willing to commit necessary time to the position in order to help the organization be successful by coordinating efforts to offer peer to peer educational workshops to campus Previous experience as a peer educator/facilitator

Ability to encourage feedback to promote positive dialogue during educational sessions Exceptional organizational and verbal skills Detail oriented and conscientious Experience working with volunteers Knowledge of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and primary violence prevention strategies
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Educational: - Provides assistance with a 12-18 hour training workshop for PAVE peer educators/facilitators to learn skills to become peer educators on sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking - Creates comfortable and safe learning environments for peer educators in training and continuing education sessions - With the help of other PAVE staff members, heightens awareness about PAVE’s peer education program and workshops - Supports peer educators/facilitators in their efforts to educate the campus about sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking - Coordinates PAVE peer education facilitations/workshops - Creates, reviews, and updates materials to use for the peer education program and to distribute at facilitations/workshops - Leads and facilitates workshops upon request Operational: - Organizes and stocks peer education boxes, binders, folders, etc. - In coordination with the Evaluation Coordinator, coordinates evaluation efforts in order to improve the peer education program accordingly - Maintains accurate and up to date contact information for PAVE peer educators/facilitators who have completed or are a part of peer education training - Works with the Evaluation Coordinator to track and record the number of facilitations conducted and the number of students reached - Coordinates and schedules requests for peer education workshops Financial: - Maintains a working understanding of PAVE peer education budget and expenditures; coordinates with the Financial & Supervision Chair - Contacts speakers for the peer education program to serve campus and coordinates payment with the Financial & Supervision Chair - Works with the Chair and Financial & Supervision Chair to properly and effectively use PAVE’s budget for the peer education program Basic Staff Responsibilities: - Attends weekly staff meetings - Attends events put on by PAVE staff and volunteers - Submits accurate timesheets biweekly - Checks PAVE email twice during the day (morning and evening) and responds to emails in a timely manner
