Department Overview:

The CoE Advising Office is an experienced and dedicated team focused on providing advising services and programming for all students in the College.

Qualifications:

Required:
1. College of Engineering undergraduate student
2. Previous customer service experience
3. Self-starter & independent worker
4. Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
5. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
6. Friendly and welcoming attitude

Preferred:
1. Previous experience working in the College of Engineering
2. At least 3 semesters remaining in their undergraduate studies
3. Completed at least one semester in their undergraduate studies
4. Experience preparing excel spreadsheets and reporting the data
5. Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders that may include, students, staff, faculty, division and cross campus partners

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrates flexibility, punctuality, and reliability
- Ability to work on a team and independently
- Ability to work with diverse populations with a diverse array of background and needs
- Ability to abide by FERPA regulations and maintain confidentiality with data and student information
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion with confidential matters

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Primary duties:
1. General front office reception responsibilities (including in-person, phone, and email communications)
2. Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders that visit the unit (ex. students, parents, staff & faculty)
3. Data entry and/or special projects and maintenance of office documents
4. Maintain student records
5. Database Management
6. Participate in student services programming events as needed
7. Assist professional advisors as needed
