Department Overview:

The UW-Madison Environmental & Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine Programs (EOH-OM) help assure that the UW campus and affiliated facilities are safe and healthful for those who learn, live, work and visit. In addition to assessing campus locations for hazards, the EOH-OM Programs support regulatory compliance efforts and provide patient care services for staff and students who encounter workplace hazards at campus facilities.

Qualifications:

Enrolled as a credit-seeking student at UW-Madison

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication skills, experience communicating in challenging situations
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently

Preferred: Undergraduate coursework or experience in kinesiology, rehabilitation psychology, engineering, occupational safety and health, design, industrial hygiene, and/or pre-health. Driver’s license.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Seeking a student assistant to support Ergonomics Program.
Job duties may include:
-Conduct ergonomics showroom appointments and assessments, adjust and fit equipment
-Lead new employee ergonomics training every other Wednesday from 5-6pm.
-Assist with work incident investigation administrative tasks
-Provide assistance with data analysis, SharePoint and review of current ergonomics literature
-Support other projects as able

Physical Demands:

Frequent: Sitting work, Standing Work
Occasional: Walking, Hand/Finger Coordination
Rare: Lifting/Carrying/Push/Pull <15 pounds, Low Work, Driving campus-owned vehicle
