Department Overview:

 The Wisconsin School of Business Multicultural Center is a newly created center and we are looking for people who are willing to go above and beyond as an intern on the team. The center is located at 2250 of Grainger Hall on the second floor overlooking the courtyard. The Multicultural Center supports students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to center their voices and promote cultural change to build an inclusive community where all students can thrive. Anticipated Start Date:

 8/26/2024 training week begins. 9/4/2024 projects/front desk hours begin

 5/09/2025 (Summer hours maybe available)

Schedule:

 All work will be conducted on-site and will consist of working the front desk. This position does come with some office hours and those maybe done in the center or off-site if approved by supervisor with some hours potentially scheduled in the evening.

Qualifications:

 Have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
Understand Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices
Excellent customer service skills
Effective writing and communication skills
Attention to detail, well organized
Punctuality, reliable attendance, and flexibility
Highly motivated to learn about services and resources in the Wisconsin School of Business
Preference may be given to candidates who have knowledge of Canva, Adobe, or other creative software

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Understand multiculturalism diversity on campus
Be able to work well on a team for large projects
Be able to work independently for position-specific duties
Knowledge of best communication practices
Ability to create event promotion materials

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Help in the staffing of the Multicultural Center Front Desk.
Help in the creation of marketing materials.
Assist in a strategy for the overall center's communication efforts.
Work with WSB Marketing and Strategic Communications on special projects.
Assist in all creative needs of the center.
Provide insight on current trends and programs that would meet the needs of various multicultural students.
Provide support to the Logistics team as needed on group projects.

Physical Demands:

You will have to wipe down tables on a timely manner as well as move furniture around for event reservations or other needs.
