Department Overview:

The Learning More From Adolescents Online (LMFAO) Research Team seeks to identify ways to promote well-being for adolescents and young adults when using technology and digital media. We are specifically interested in decreasing negative social media activities and amplifying positive social media activities for marginalized adolescents, including sexual and gender minority (SGM) youth. Schedule:

Flexible work schedule to accommodate coursework. Looking for a commitment of between 6-10 hours per week.

Office is open M-F, some weekend work is possible.

Hours for recruitment staff are between 4-7pm remote or in-person.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Qualifications:

6-9 hours/week total on research activities, trainings, and meetings
Summer commitment required, opportunities for fall and spring semester also possible.
Attendance at hour-long weekly meetings over Zoom or in-person
Some travel and attendance to recruitment community events required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Passion for psychology research, interest in working on a interdisciplinary research project
Strong interest in adolescent health and wellbeing
Ability to collaborate positively in a team setting
Comfortable with calling/ texting research study participants

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Recruitment team will work to contact participants for varying B3 study tasks including

determining eligibility, walking through consent with participants, enrolling participants, and texting to set up times/ calls for research tasks etc.

Attending monthly and weekly group meetings also required.



This position involves obtaining consent from teens aged 13-15 as well as their legal guardian. As well as interviewing study participants.

All training is provided and most work will be remote, with some opportunities for in-person meeting's if desired.

This position offers valuable experience collaborating with a research team and working directly with teens. Our research spans multiple disciplines, including child development, public health, gender studies, and digital media, allowing students to gain research experience that is relevant in many fields.

Physical Demands:

This position may require some work to Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Will include sitting for extended periods at a computer station.
