Department Overview:

The Wisconsin Historical Society connects people to the past by collecting, preserving, and sharing stories. The Retail team operates the retail operations, product development, and buying for 10 museum stores in the Museum and Historic Sites division as well as the Society Online Store.

Flexible scheduling available! Shifts can be scheduled between 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Mix of remote and in-office work possible.

Qualifications:

Candidates should enjoy working with a team in an office environment. Candidates must be comfortable using computers, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and have excellent writing skills.

Work study is required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Applicants must be reliable, attentive to detail, and able to work independently while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Experience in marketing, copy writing, and/or ecommerce is a preferred but not mandatory.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This position provides promotional and copy writing support for the Retail Department at the Wisconsin Historical Society, 816 State Street. (Our building is accessible by many buses but no parking provided onsite.)

This position supports the Ecommerce Coordinator and is responsible for writing engaging and descriptive copy for products listed on the WHS online store, assists with setup of new online product listings, and helps connect customers to unique, mission-driven products that support local makers, authors, and showcase Society collections and historic sites. Additionally, this position will support creation and expansion of direct email marketing emails and campaigns, setup promotional tactics, and ensure the product categories are well managed.

Physical Demands:

Job requires ability to sit/work at a computer terminal.
