Department Overview:

The SMPH Facilities Services team is located in the Health Sciences Learning Center with a mailroom located in the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research and a second mailroom located at the Medical Sciences Center.

Schedule:

Our business hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am-4:00pm. Closed on legal holidays. Schedule is flexible depending on class/exam schedules. Students will be assigned to either the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) or the Medical Sciences Center (MSC) mailrooms based on operational need.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Positive attitude, attention to detail, customer service oriented, dependable, problem solving and works well in a team environment.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Completes mail processing and distribution-related duties for incoming and outgoing mail according to best practice to ensure timely receipt and quality handling of incoming and outgoing U.S. and institutional mail.
- Completes mail shipment and delivery transactions and associated activities under direct supervision according to customer specifications and in conjunction with established pickup and delivery schedules, rules, and regulations
- Investigates and troubleshoots lost or misdirected mail items
- Processes notifications to appropriate entities to relay delivery status and provide excellent customer service

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 25 Ibs.
