Department Overview:

SSEC engineers and scientists develop and utilize space-, aircraft- and ground-based instrumentation to collect and analyze observations of the Earth’s atmosphere, oceans, land surface, and other planetary atmospheres to improve our understanding of weather, climate, and atmospheric processes. Through this research we produce new resources, products, and tools that are helping to improve the accuracy and timeliness of weather forecasts.

Monday - Friday during core business hours of 7am - 5pm. Actual schedule will be determined upon hire.

Qualifications:

Good oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and web development best practices.

Knowledge of PHP, WordPress Theme/Plugin development, database design/management, and shell scripting is desired.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This position will be working with senior web developers to help improve the existing web applications and develop new ones. The selected candidate will be working on both front-end React web applications and back-end PHP web applications.
