Department Overview:
The cereal breeding and Quantitative Genetics group run the oat breeding program of the UW. We have a wide range of projects running in Oat, Winter Wheat, and Barley in both conventional and organic systems

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Responsibility, attention to detail and concentration, commitment, and good communication skills. Be able to work in a team or independently.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
In a part-time position, the primary duty will be grain image phenotyping by scanning indoor activity at the lab; this activity needs attention to detail and high concentration. In addition, if it is required field management, weeding, and phenotyping. In a full-time position, the duties will involve grain image phenotyping by scanning indoor and field management, weeding, and phenotyping. Also, harvest preparation, harvest, post-harvest samples management, and seed store and inventory.
Physical Demands:
The work includes outdoor and indoor activities. Outside duties related with the experiments can include long periods in the field and being exposed to weather conditions. Must be required lift seed containers up to 25 Lbs.
