Department Overview:

Come join the dedicated and knowledgeable staff of the Research Animal Resources & Compliance Unit! The University of Wisconsin –
Madison Research Animal Resources & Compliance Unit (RARC) is multidisciplinary in scope and provides veterinary and operational
support to the UW-Madison animal care and use program. The animal program involves all aspects of animal use for research,
teaching, and outreach.

Qualifications:

Lab experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with Apple products
Basic biology knowledge
Communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and with initiative

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Assist Veterinary Pathologist in performing pathology laboratory work.
• Assist histologist with cassette processing and other histology lab maintenance.
• Perform basic parasitology.
• Organize lab accessions and billing records.
• Record inventory.
• Perform lab upkeep: refilling supplies, labelling slides, emailing reports, and cleaning/sanitizing lab.

Physical Demands:

Able to lift at least 40 lbs
