Department Overview:
The College of Letters and Science is one of the largest Colleges on campus with 800 faculty, 20,000 students, and 1450 staff. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is part of the College of Letters and Science Administration in South Hall.

Schedule:
The Wisconsin Experience Graduate Assistant will be a 25% Graduate Assistant and work between 8-10 hours per week in a hybrid work environment, in-person at South Hall and virtually. Applicants need to have consistent access to a computer, camera, and microphone for video conferencing. This assistantship is expected to last through the 2024-25 academic year with possibility for renewal in future academic years.

Current graduate student, preferably in an L&S department Demonstrated strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the college
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Demonstrated strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Experience leading group activities Possess strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and complete multiple short- and long-term projects. Ability to lead projects requiring data analysis, reports, and assessment Ability to effectively communicate and interact positively with staff and students. Familiarity with and creativity in producing communications materials on the web, designing reports, flyers, and images Ability to find, curate and organize large amounts of information Proficiency with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, data entry; some assessment experience and knowledge of other computer programs desired (including Canva, Publisher, Photoshop, In-design, etc.)
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Wisconsin Experience Graduate Assistant will work on projects to advance DEI priorities in the College of Letters & Science as a member of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team. This position will also serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) for the College of L&S as the Graduate Representative. Work with the Office of DEI to build the office vision, mission, action plan, and activities Work with the Office of DEI to build the DEI Leads learning program, including criteria, messaging, and building the resource hub Work with the CGRS, Sloan, and Office staff to continue to strengthen the graduation education experience in L&S Coordinate program activities and events hosted by the Office Create a physical space with the new Office in South Hall to create regular community events and student engagement Schedule community meetings through a variety of mechanisms and co-host them (zoom, Teams, in person) Produce signature materials for the program; assist in production of presentations, training materials, manuals, and toolkits. Complete operational activities as assigned by the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean for DEI. Work on special projects related to overall L&S DEI strategic priorities. Attend bi-monthly College DEI Committee and quarterly retreats for the committee and DEI Leads
