Department Overview:
The UW–Madison Department of Biochemistry was founded in 1883. Schedule:
No fixed schedule, but traditionally most of the works are done on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The successful candidates can decide when to complete the tasks after the initial training period

Qualifications:
The successful candidates must be reliable, have good work ethics, and are able to work independently and in a group. No prior experiences are needed, but candidates with coursework and/or experiences in basic biology and chemistry lab techniques are preferred. Biochemistry, biology or chemistry majors in their freshman or sophomore years are preferred. Interested candidates should be able to work during fall and spring semester and possibly a little bit during summer/winter break.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
No prior experiences are needed, but candidates with coursework and/or experiences in basic biology and chemistry lab techniques are preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Duties of this position include: • Buffers and reagents preparation • General laboratory maintenance • Receive packages and break down boxes • Use autoclave and dishwasher for lab preparation and cleaning • Keep laboratory records • Test laboratory procedures
Physical Demands:
This work requires some physical exertion, such as regular working and bending. In some situation, there may be special requirement for agility and dexterity such as hand/eye coordination.
