Department Overview:

SuccessWorks at the College of Letters & Science is responsible for providing career advising and internship/job search assistance to the approximately 18,000 undergraduate students within the College of Letters & Science. Among our many services, we offer career and internship advising, programming and events, undergraduate career courses, and growing connections to UW’s vast alumni network and employers.

Schedule:

Weekly schedules occur during standard work hours (Mondays - Fridays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm). Hours are flexible to accommodate a student’s schedule as needed. The student may also be required to assist with some student programming or events outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications:

Current UW-Madison undergraduate student

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Passionate about events, with strong attention to detail and a focus on customer service
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Canva
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail, and work independently or collaboratively to enhance events.
Willingness to learn new processes and systems, ask questions, and seek solutions.
Shows initiative and proactively identifies and acts on opportunities to improve SuccessWorks programs and services.
Demonstrates commitment to diversity and creating inclusive events and programs.
Previous experience working with events is advantageous.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Assist in the planning and execution of career programming and events such as workshops, classroom presentations, alumni networking events, and fairs
Assist with general administrative tasks related to event planning and execution, including event registration and coordinating program volunteers
Provide on-site support during events to ensure they run smoothly
Analyze post-event feedback and identify areas for improving events and the overall student experience
Complete other duties as assigned related to event planning, logistics, and execution

Physical Demands:

Some light lifting is possible at events. Accommodations can be made based on physical ability.
