Schedule:
Flexible. After training, work hours will be flexible as much of the work will be independent. Some meetings (in-person and virtual) will be required but can be scheduled based on availability.

Graduate Student in good academic standing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong attention to detail, past experience working with data (could be in any format, excel, databases, statistical packages, etc.), ability to work independently and meet established deadlines, critical thinking skills, ability to identify data problems/inconsistencies and develop questions. Data cleaning and analysis will be largely conducted using Stata; some experience with Stata from coursework or other projects preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
This project assistant position will help with cleaning a large time series data set and running basic analysis. Specific job duties include:
This project examines municipal-level policies requiring the stocking of healthy foods in a range of food retail establishments. We have more than 10 years of micro-business data from the YourEconomy Time Series, which we plan to use to examine food retail openings and closures before and after these policies took place in two geographic regions (policy municipality and a control municipality). All training for how to work within the data set will be provided. This is a good opportunity to learn more about working with spatial data for policy analysis. This position may be of special interest to students interested in studying the topic and problem of urban food access.
