Department Overview:

Office setting with 5 Radiology IT Help Desk co-workers, located on the far west side of campus near the UW Hospital complex. You will be working with SMPH faculty and staff, and UW Health clinical staff in a shared UW research and clinical computing environment. Compliance with UW-Madison, SMPH and UW Health Covid safety protocols is mandatory.

Schedule:

Scheduling is flexible but requires availability during normal business hours (8am-5pm) Monday through Friday.

We are looking for a student hourly position to work between 10 and 25 hours per week

Willingness to learn new skills
Customer service focus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, maintaining effective communication.

Ability to lift and move technology equipment up to 30 pounds with the assistance of a wheeled cart between nearby buildings.

Basic troubleshooting capability for hardware and software problems is preferred but not required.

Basic computer familiarity with both PC and Mac computers is preferred but not required.

Familiarity with video editing software is preferred but not required.

Prior experience in a customer service position is preferred but not required

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Responsibilities may include:

IT equipment placement and retrieval
Organizing IT equipment inventory and resources
Maintaining shared IT areas such as conference rooms
Enter data in a database tracking inventory and deployment of IT resources.
Collecting packages and coordinating delivery to users
Answer the phone, take messages, escalate problems to the Radiology IT Group as appropriate
Complete other longer-term projects as assigned.
Basic editing of video files and posting to an internal video repository.
Other duties as assigned

We provide support to 500+ staff members. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Start date immediately, with the option to extend into the next semester and beyond.
