Department Overview:

The UW Carbone Cancer Center's mission is to increase the capacity of communities and cancer researchers, to reduce inequities in cancer burden through research, outreach and education.

Flexible - hours can be scheduled around classes. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Qualifications:

Ability to effectively communicate and work independently. Expectations would be for employment to continue through the summer and into the next academic year and beyond. Freshmen, sophomore or junior students are encouraged to apply. We are looking for one student who would be available to work 12-20 hours per week.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Previous office experience preferred. Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel is ideal.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Duties include supporting outreach and research programs through establishing regular program related meetings and taking meeting notes, assisting with creating newsletter materials, updating program related websites and acting as the point of contact for confirming study eligibility. Duties also include assisting with mail delivery, data entry and database maintenance, purchasing, maintain program/project lists, tracking and balancing accounts, tracking invoices, photocopying, errands, and more.

Physical Demands:

Ability to move boxes of paper and supplies. Walking between buildings.
