Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Attention to detail and organizational skills, punctual, reliable attendance, and flexible Ability to enforce BEL and WSB Precollege policies and procedures Understanding of diversity and inclusion and a willingness to learn more about these topics in order to create and support inclusive spaces Highly motivated and a strong initiative to learn about BBA services and resources Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, group facilitation, and social emotional skills Ability to be a team player and leader in different situations and shift to meet the changing needs of BEL and WSB Precollege programs
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) Precollege and Business Emerging Leaders (BEL) leadership team will be hiring interns to support various precollege and outreach projects. The WSB Precollege Programs offers an array of immersive experiences including school year workshops and summer camps that supports high school students’ interest in business. Precollege participants learn about the WSB Undergraduate programs, explore business majors through job shadowing and networking opportunities, explore their personal identities, and participate in applied learning activities. WSB Precollege Programs also leads the Business Emerging Leaders (BEL)’s Bridge to BEL, precollege summer program for incoming, first year BEL scholarship recipients. Business Emerging Leaders (BEL) is a scholarship program that supports BEL Scholars’ collegiate experience through regular individual and group meetings, monthly workshops, and case management support. BEL works collaboratively with students and undergraduate staff to create a welcoming, inclusive community and to ensure that all scholars have what they need to be successful during their undergraduate career. BEL and Precollege Programs Interns will serve as program ambassadors and assist with all programmatic needs. Programmatic needs include event planning, supporting outreach and recruitment efforts, and completing administrative tasks as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: -Work closely with leadership team to support all needs of program -Contribute to creating safe and inclusive, spaces that promotes and supports personal growth and diverse experiences of program participants -Assist program managers with planning and executing program activities, excursions, and events -Create promotional materials for events, program newsletters, and social media platforms -Support BEL Program and Precollege outreach efforts which include co-presenting in person and virtual info sessions -Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings -Other relevant duties as assigned
