Department Overview:
The Technology Entrepreneurship Office (TEO) at UW–Madison serves as a critical bridge for transforming potential solutions into tangible technologies. As a dedicated partner across the full lifecycle, TEO offers networking opportunities, a mix of online and in-person courses, and tailored mentorship, ensuring that every entrepreneur receives personalized 1:1 guidance unique to their specific needs. We help you navigate each stage of the startup journey with confidence. Located in the College of Engineering and also under the B-School, CDIS, and L&S, TEO focuses on helping faculty, graduates, and staff members with innovative ideas. The office is two years old.

Schedule:
Flexible schedule within the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. The student worker must attend the Monday meeting either on Teams or in person. They may also be asked to help with certain events on an as-needed basis.

Currently enrolled UW-Madison student
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Understanding of data management • Ability to document processes • Understanding of CRMs • Excel - MUST • File management • How to create dashboards • Track metrics and calculating KPIs • Writing skills • Comfortable sending out emails • Brainstorming • Using Google Docs • Ability to visualize data flow • Ability to filter spreadsheets • Ability to find communications
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Keep on track with the tasks that need to be completed for the office • Manage the data tracking processes • Create new data management processes and plans as needed • Help the office prepare to move over to a CRM system • Manage tracking and communication of those who have signed up for events • Sending out promotional emails • Managing the Manifest ID process for the I-Corps course management, which includes sending out weekly emails to the class, getting everyone connected to Canvas (including sending out the Manifest IDs), and sharing all the Zoom links • In charge of distributing marketing materials such as flyers, emails, and display screen images • Tracking applications to the program over time • Conduct research for future initiatives
Physical Demands:
• Walking around campus to put up flyers • Loading vehicles or wagons to prepare for conferences and events • Accommodations can be made if the student is not physically able to complete these tasks
