Department Overview:

The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery is a research institute on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison that was built to develop a new approach to science driven by unlikely collaborations among outstanding research minds. Strengths in AI and Health, Engineering for Life, and Systems Optimization enable WID to advance basic research and rise to grand challenges.

Schedule:

Flexible hours between Monday and Friday and 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT. We will work around your class schedule. There may be an opportunity to increase hours worked in the summer.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as an eligible graduate student at UW-Madison (Masters, PhD, EdD, or equivalent).
• Experience with interventions, assessments, or surveys for research in social sciences, education, psychology, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Able to provide expertise on developing or using survey instruments for research in social sciences, education, psychology, or a related field.
• Able to provide expertise on developing interventions for social sciences research in social sciences, education, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience with STEM persistence, belonging in higher education, inclusive learning, or related fields.
• Interest in supporting biomedical sciences / biosciences and equity in higher education.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Help develop the survey instrument
• Provide input on research interventions and study design
• Collaborate with PIs, the study team, and the Tiny Earth global network
• Contribute to development of the video interventions and video game assessments.
