Department Overview:
The Entertainment and Events Department at The Rigby is responsible for curating exceptional live performances and events that elevate the experience for our guests. We are seeking a motivated and creative intern to assist with booking live entertainment, managing sound and lighting, and promoting events. This internship will offer an opportunity to work hands-on in the live events industry, with exposure to talent booking, event promotion, and technical aspects of sound and lighting.

Qualifications:
Strong interest in live entertainment, sound, and lighting production Basic knowledge of sound and lighting equipment (training will be provided) Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment Enthusiasm for learning and assisting with event promotion and talent booking Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work evenings and weekends as events require

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Sound & Lighting Equipment: Basic understanding or willingness to learn how to set up and operate sound and lighting systems for live events. Event Promotion: Assist with promoting upcoming events via social media, email newsletters, and other marketing channels. Talent Booking: Help source and contact bands, performers, and other entertainment talent. Ticketing Management: Support the management of event ticketing systems and assist with ticket sales. Attention to Detail: Ability to track event schedules, bookings, and logistics accurately. Communication Skills: Work with artists, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth event execution. Creative Thinking: Help identify opportunities to improve live events and enhance the audience experience.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Talent Booking: Assist with identifying and booking bands and performers for upcoming events. Research potential talent and attend shows to evaluate performers. Sound & Lighting Setup: Learn and assist with the setup and operation of sound and lighting equipment during events. Event Promotion: Help create and execute promotional campaigns to drive attendance for live entertainment events, including social media marketing and email outreach. Ticketing & Sales: Assist in managing ticketing systems, tracking sales, and assisting patrons as needed. Event Logistics: Support event coordinators with various tasks on event days, such as coordinating with talent, overseeing event setup, and ensuring smooth event operations. Opportunity Identification: Help identify areas for improvement in event operations, audience engagement, and the overall entertainment experience at The Rigby. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the live entertainment industry, assisting with everything from booking bands and performers to setting up sound and lighting for events. Physical Demands:
This position requires setting up and breaking down sound and lighting equipment, which may involve lifting and standing for extended periods. Ability to work in a variety of event environments.
