Department Overview:
The Divisional Human Resources team works within the Business Office at the School of Education. The HR Team is responsible for all Human Resources functions within the school, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, payroll, benefits, and workforce relations.

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled as a student at UW Madison. • Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or Management is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• General customer service experience or administrative experience is preferred. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the Divisional Human Resources Team with administrative tasks for the School of Education. • Provide support in maintaining personnel records, updating HR databases, and handling confidential information. • Perform regular audits of HR files and records to ensure compliance with university policies and legal requirements. • Create and assist with the documentation of processes, procedures, and flowcharts. • Provide project support for various HR projects. • Assist with divisional audits, including but not limited to background checks, positions of trust, education audits, and I-9 compliance. • Perform other HR and administrative duties as needed.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit and use a computer for long periods of time.
