Department Overview:
The OJ Noer Research and Educational Facility is utilized by the Soils and Plant Pathology Departments for ongoing research of multiple projects. The turf maintenance staff supports their research by maintaining multiple turf plots to a high standard conducive to their research.

Qualifications:
- You must be over 18 and enrolled in a school in the coming year
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The following skills are preferred - Proficient in irrigation systems and landscape maintenance techniques - Knowledge of power tools and hand tools used in maintenance work - Experience in groundskeeping, garden, and landscape maintenance - Familiarity with lawn care practices, including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing - Ability to diagnose and repair common maintenance issues - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Excellent time management and organizational abilities - Ability to follow direction for given duties, work independently and carry them out in a timely and professional manner
Position Summary/Job Duties:
- Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems - Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property, including landscaping and surrounding areas. - Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents - Mow, trim, rake, edge, aerate, and water Turfgrass, light building maintenance. - Top dress, seed, and sod lawns. - Weed, till, edge, and mulch where needed - Plant and prune trees and shrubs. - Plant and maintain flowerbeds. - Keep records of maintenance tasks performed - Assist with other projects, such as installing and repairing signs, path maintenance - Perform other duties as assigned. - Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Physical Demands:
- Some heavy lifting - Frequent kneeling, squatting, standing - Occasionally working in inclimate weather
