Department Overview:
UW-Madison's Division of Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide, and national issues, improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts. This role is located in Appleton, Wisconsin and will provide support for the 4-H program in Outagamie County under the supervision and direction of the 4-H Program Educator.

Schedule:
This position will work an average of 40 hours per week during the summer. These are flexible hours, but some evenings and weekends will be required. This position begins as soon as possible and will be during the months of April-August depending upon need and availability.

Qualifications:
Required: Meet 4-H overnight chaperone requirements . Experience in an educational setting and/or working with youth. Employment will require a criminal background check. Student must be enrolled for credit at an educational institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting. Experience with the 4-H Program is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Effective word processing, computer technology and file management skills Demonstrated ability to assist with planning and delivering educational programs Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and through technology Ability to work with in a team setting and independently with minimal supervision depending on project needs.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The successful candidate will: Collaborate with 4-H Program Educator to plan, execute, and evaluate educational programs. Create and implement educational outreach programs throughout Winnebago County including but not limited to 4-H Summer Camp, 4-H Cloverbud Camp and educational programming during the Winnebago County Fair. Develop and deliver youth organization programming (i.e. Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA, library, etc.) Prepare all required reports and lesson plans associated with duties. Assist individuals in person, over the phone, and via email with high quality customer service. Partner with existing youth and adult volunteer leaders necessary to carry out 4-H youth development programming. Perform basic office duties (copy, mailings, return calls, emails, etc.). Complete all necessary trainings.
Physical Demands:
Office environment with sitting and standing, using office machines, typing and using computer, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Out of Office programs include a variety of settings and include uneven terrain, inclines, with sun, rain, wind and dust possible.
