Department Overview:

UPchieve is a nonprofit providing free, 24/7 online tutoring to low-income 6th-12th grade students. Our mission is to democratize access to academic support so that all students have an equal opportunity to finish high school, attend college, and achieve upward mobility.

Schedule:

About 5 hours per week; work independently on research and outreach with check-ins every 1-2 weeks with a supervisor

Qualifications:

Eligibility: Must be a Brandeis student with Federal Work-Study eligibility

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

No prior experience needed; we provide guidance and training

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Identify and recruit new volunteer tutors through outreach to college students and professionals
Conduct research to find new opportunities for UPchieve to connect with potential tutors (campus groups, student organizations, etc.)
Engage in outreach via email, social media, and student groups to spread awareness
Collaborate with a supervisor to refine recruitment strategies

Physical Demands:

Ability to type on a computer.
