Qualifications:
Current college student Interested in troubleshooting computer software/hardware
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Comfortable performing troubleshooting with computer software/hardware. Customer Service - courteous, respectful, responsive and frequent communication. Student must be able to balance work with school and be able to prioritize tasks.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) is looking for a part-time student to support our help desk operations. Our help desk uses an email ticketing system to provide remote and in-person technical support to approximately 60 OVCR staff. Students work closely with full time IT staff to assist with a variety of IT-related projects and close tickets in a timely manner. In addition to the above responsibilities, applicants should have excellent communication skills and be able to work on problems independently. Student interested in professional development will be offered the Entry-Level Cybersecurity Certification from ISC2 (both training and the exam).
Physical Demands:
To support installation/moving computers and equipment, must be able to lift 20 lbs and get onto the ground to install/move equipment.
