Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Working towards a degree in biomedical engineering.
An interest in animal husbandry.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Morgridge Institute for Research Aquatics Center is a large biomedical aquaculture facility that provides husbandry services to care for fish. Currently we are seeking multiple zebrafish husbandry technicians to work during the academic year.

Duties include feeding fish, checking water quality, cleaning tanks, changing system filters, cleaning laboratory glassware, and other miscellaneous task. Work hours can be scheduled to accommodate academic courses but working at least one weekend shift is expected. Weekly hours are typically 12-16 hours per week.

Physical Demands:

Work is normally performed in a typical lab environment.
No or very limited physical effort is required.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
