Department Overview:
Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) is a student organization dedicated to preventing sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking through education and activism. We reach out to students through our interactive peer education workshops, volunteer and all-campus events, and awareness-raising campaigns. Our vision is a campus community that practices healthy sexuality, expects and offers respect, and celebrates pleasure so enthusiastically that is incompatible with violence. Join us as we build a community on campus against the violence that empowers its members to be the change they want to see!

Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled as a student at UW-Madison Solid commitment to PAVE’s mission statement and to ending sexual/domestic violence Willing to commit necessary time to the position in order to help the organization be successful by coordinating efforts to offer peer to peer educational workshops to campus Previous experience as a peer educator/facilitator Ability to encourage feedback to promote positive dialogue during educational sessions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Exceptional organizational and verbal skills - Detail oriented and conscientious - Experience working with volunteers - Knowledge of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and primary violence prevention strategies - Fluent with Canva
Position Summary/Job Duties:
- Provides assistance with training workshops for PAVE peer educators/facilitators to learn skills to become peer educators on sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking - Creates comfortable and safe learning environments for peer educators in training and continuing education sessions - With the help of other PAVE staff members, heightens awareness about PAVE’s peer education program and workshops - Supports peer educators/facilitators in their efforts to educate the campus about sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking - Coordinates PAVE peer education facilitations/workshops - Creates, reviews, and updates materials to use for the peer education program and to distribute at facilitations/workshops - Leads and facilitates workshops upon request
