Department Overview:
The Libraries’ Teaching & Learning Programs (TLP) Office collaborates with faculty, instructional staff, and campus administrators to help students become efficient, effective users and producers of information. Additionally, the TLP Office manages the campus common reading program, Go Big Read, in collaboration with the Office of the Chancellor.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled at UW-Madison - Strong interest in instruction, instructional design and/or libraries - Comfort with public speaking
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with librarians, instructors, and students - Great organizational, communication, and time management skills - Ability to speak in front of a class for 50-75 minutes
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Student Library Instructors serve an important role in the UW-Madison Libraries’ instruction program by teaching information literacy sessions for first-year writing and composition courses. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: - Leading library information literacy sessions for first-level writing and composition courses - Communicating with class instructors and responding to student questions - Assisting with curriculum review & development, and scheduling for large-enrollment courses - Assisting with assessment initiatives and statistics for library instruction administration - Participating in a small shared learning cohort of student library instructors - Possibility to assist with library information literacy instruction in other areas of interest - Possibility for projects of professional interest Skills you will develop in this position: - Library information literacy instruction - Teaching & public speaking - Project management - Communication - Curriculum review & development - Assessment and analytics - Collaborative teamwork
