Department Overview:

User Services is part of the Division of Information Technology’s Core Services and provides client-centered support to meet the academic, administrative, and research needs of the campus community. The department offers a broad range of consultation and user support services through the Help Desk, InfoLabs, Product Management, and Departmental Support.

Internal Operations, a unit within User Services, manages building operations, space coordination, and transportation logistics for the division, while also delivering administrative support to its units and departments. The Internal Operations team includes a manager, administrative assistants, and student assistants.

Schedule:

Work will be completed on-site at the Computer Sciences Building, located at 1210 W Dayton Street. Shifts will vary based on student availability, with a minimum of 2–3 hours per shift scheduled between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check due to access to keys and secure areas.
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated reliability, including consistent punctuality and dependability.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrates a positive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive in asking questions and gathering necessary information.
High attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Perform clerical tasks such as responding to emails, submitting surplus property requests, reviewing shared calendars, and monitoring meeting planners.
Support the building manager by checking first aid kits, cleaning hoteling offices, maintaining supplies in shared wellness rooms, and relocating small office items or furniture.
Assist with preparing and cleaning meeting rooms, and provide occasional event support (e.g., stocking beverages, preparing coffee supplies, receiving food deliveries).
Collaborate with the Internal Operations Manager to create, document, and review standard operating procedures and internal process documentation.
Contribute to team projects and initiatives as assigned by Internal Operations staff

Physical Demands:

Ability to travel between campus and nearby off-campus locations, including the Computer Sciences Building, the Middleton Building, and 700 Regent Street.
Capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, pulling, and pushing.
