Department Overview:

The mission of the Parent and Family Program within Student Affairs is to connect parents and families of UW students to the university so that they may support their studentʼs success.

Anticipated Start Date:

As early as 12/17/25 - no later than 1/22/26

Anticipated End Date (If Applicable):

Position available to students until they graduate from UW-Madison, provided they are meeting e approves continuation of employment. Can take semesters off for study abroad or other internsh and approval. Fall and Spring academic semester hours

Schedule:

Summer - 20-30 hours
Fall - Flexible on schedule and days based on class schedule 10-20 hours per week
Some weekends may be required.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a current UW-Madison student (minimum of 3 semesters remaining)
2. Previous customer service experience preferred
3. Desire to compassionately work with parents and families to promote programming and provide support.
4. Experience in writing or communications preferred.
5. Positive and flexible attitude
6. Ability to work well both independently, and collaboratively on a team
7. Desire to professionally represent and serve as an ambassador of UW–Madison
8. Preferred Interest or coursework in any of the following areas: communications, English, journalism

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Ability to answer phone call, emails, and social media in a professional way.
2. Preferred ability to write, and generate content, with excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to complete assigned tasks and work in a collaborative, group setting.
3. Support with large-scale coordinated events.
