Department Overview:
The First Wave Scholarship is the first and only full-tuition, four-year Hip-Hop & Urban Arts scholarship program for graduating high school seniors and first year college freshmen that are applying to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the first time.

Schedule:
8-10 hours per week (between the hours of 8am –5pm, some evening availability may be requested). Details to be discussed with your supervisor.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled student at UW-Madison in good academic standing. Must be available to work in-person in the First Wave Office. This position requires a reliable individual with an inquisitive and collaborative mindset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Students with the any/all following skills or experiences are highly encouraged to apply: Administrative support, event coordination, marketing or social media experience, ability to multitask, excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, small project management experience, MS Office suite experience.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The First Wave (FW) Student Services Intern supports the delivery of FW scholarship programming and resources that enhance student success and engagement. Responsibilities may include assisting with events, providing front-line support to students, maintaining records, preparing communications, and connecting peers with campus resources. The role provides professional development experience for students interested in higher education programming, while contributing to a welcoming and supportive student services environment. The FW Student Services Intern can expect to do the following: -Provide administrative support for First Wave Scholarship Program events, workshops, and student services. -Assist in coordinating and promoting programming, including orientations, advising sessions, and scholar engagement activities. -Maintain accurate records, files, and data related to First Wave student participation and services. -Support communication with First Wave scholars through email, social media, and outreach materials. -Help prepare meeting materials, agendas, and presentations for staff and scholar events related to Student Services. -Contribute to tracking attendance for Student Support Services (SSS) events, gathering feedback, and reporting outcomes of student services activities. -Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors; serve as a point of contact for questions about program services. -Uphold program values of academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.
